Echoes from Warriors Mark

Echoes from Warriors Mark, by Elizabeth Nearhoof, was originally published 0in 1967. It was out-of-print for many years, until the Huntingdon County Historical Society produced a small reprint in 2001. All the books have been
sold; we are now taking names and addresses, preliminary to doing another limited reprint. Please e-mail us if you are interested, as the timing of the reprint depends upon accumulating a sufficient number of orders.

The book contains 417 pages of text, 52 photo pages, and 4 pages of maps. It sells for $50.00 (plus 6% sales tax to PA buyers) and shipping of $5.00. In
addition to coverage of the history of the extended Warriors Mark area of
Huntingdon and Centre counties, the book is unusual for its attention to
forgotten trades, customs, and ways of doing things in the past. The author
drew upon the memories of old residents whom she interviewed. She included the family names of those buried in area cemeteries, the names of those who pursued various trades and professions, and of those who performed military service in various wars.

An index to the book is being prepared for printing as a separate volume.
Those interested in purchasing the index should watch this site for news of
its publication date.
